2026 ARRPE Conference Call for Proposals

Call for Proposals

The Association for Rehabilitation, Research, Policy and Education is seeking submissions for the 2026 ARRPE Conference being held in San Antonio, Texas, Feb. 23-24. Presentations should focus on topics related to current developments related to rehabilitation research, policy and education.

Six tracks will be featured in the 2026 ARRPE Conference. We are seeking presentations that focus on the conference theme: Innovation, Community, Discovery: Shaping An interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Together. Please submit your proposal under one of the six tracks: 

  • Advancing Services for Underserved and Marginalized Populations 
  • Leveraging Innovative Technologies
  • Serving Youth and Young Adults in Transitions and Pathways to Independence
  • Promoting Integrated Approaches to Mental Health, Substance Use Recovery, and Trauma-Informed Care
  • Achieving Community Integration and Meaningful Employment 
  • Introducing Emerging Topics and Innovations
     

Deadline for Submission: Friday, Oct. 17, 2025

Type of Presentations (AV support is available for breakout sessions only):

  • 60-minute Breakout Session (research/literature review/practice)
  • 25-minute Breakout Session (research/literature review/practice)
    The breakout sessions are presentations of scholarly research, literature reviews, and/or an exemplary program or effective practices that are supported in the literature. 
     
  • Poster Session
    The poster session will be consisting of research findings, literature reviews, or exemplary programs/practices in a poster format. Multiple sessions will run concurrently in the same room.

Submission Guidelines

Please address the following areas in your submission. 

  1. Title: Limited to 12 words
  2. Abstract: Limited to 120 words
  3. Content Description: Based on the type of presentation, please address the required content areas.
  4. 60-min or 25-min Breakout Session (Research/Literature Reviews/Practice (limit 1200 words): 
    • For scholarly research papers, include the Purpose, Method, Results, Implications for Practice, and Conclusions.
    • For literature reviews, include the Purpose, Summary of Literature, Implications for Practice, and Conclusions.
    • For exemplary programs or practices, include Purpose, Summary of Literature, Description of Program or Practice, Implications for Practice or scholarly research papers include the Purpose, Method, Results, Implications for Practice, and Conclusions.
  5. Poster Session (limit 600 words): Briefly address the criteria identified for the research or literature review breakout sessions.
  6. Identify the track that best fits your proposal.
  7. Learning Objectives: Identify three learning objectives for your presentation
  8. Presenter Information: For each presenter, please provide the following information as it should appear in symposium materials: Name, Credentials, Institutional Affiliation, Email, Address, Phone Number.
  9. Availability of Presenters: Please indicate that if accepted, all presenters agree to attend the conference, pay the conference fee, have their session recorded, and not charge a separate admission fee for their session. 
  10. Alternative Format: Please indicate your willingness to present in an alternative format if your submission is not accepted for the preferred format. 
  11. Alternative Track: Please indicate your willingness to present in a different track than selected.

Applicants will be notified of the decision on their submission by Nov. 7.
